Salem is a dance teacher and offers lessons in the following styles: Azonto, Hiphop and Konto. She also works as a dancer and choreographer in the same styles.
As a part of her work with human rights she sees the importance of uniting the african diasporan through dance. By engaging young and adults in cultural platforms they are empowered to create their own identities and strengthen their cultural bonds/connections.
Since 2009 Salem is a member of the dance collective Laces Creations. They were among the first to launch Afro Caribbean Fusion in both Sweden and Europe as dancers and choreographers. In 2016, Salem made her debut as a dancer and choreographer in the Swedish national song contest (Melodifestivalen) with the artist SaRaha and the song Kizunguzungu. It was also the first time that the Azonto style from Ghana – was presented on one of Sweden’s largest entertainment tv programs. The following year she participated in the show Passwor(l)d at Stora Teatern. Since then, Salem has continued to accumulate titles as the winner of Afreeka Best Dance Camp Best Group Showcase 2017 and Streetstar Afro Battle 1 vs 1 2018. She has also performed with artist Lamix during P3 Guld 2018 and Imenella 2019.
